はじめまして。
「旅する羊」を運営する猪又裕也です。
この度、ホームスパンと雫石観光を広く発信し、その魅力をお伝えすることを目的に「旅する羊」を立ち上げました。
その経緯を、記したいと思います。
私は、雫石町の地域おこし協力隊として、2018年2月に千葉県の船橋市から移住して参りました。
協力隊任期中は雫石町グリーン・ツーリズム推進協議会の事務局として、農業体験やわら細工作り、亀甲織など雫石ならではの様々な体験と農家民泊を、主に中学生の教育旅行という形で提供して参りました。
～雫石観光のこと～
雫石には小岩井農場やジェラートの松ぼっくりなど、全国区の知名度を誇る観光スポットがありますが、実はまだあまり知られていない魅力が、もっともっと転がっていることを協力隊の活動をする中で知りました。
この魅力の詰まった雫石をもっと多くの方に知って頂きたい！
雫石でもっと感動できることを知って頂きたい！
という思いが日に日に増していきました。
普段素通りしてしまう雫石の楽しみ方を、「旅する羊」を通して伝えていきたいと思っています。
～ホームスパンのこと～
移住をした日から少し遡った2017年12月。私は雫石や盛岡ってどんな所だろう？と改めて調べていました。
その時にホームスパンという存在を初めて知りました。
手紡ぎ手織りの毛織物…。
手で！？
という衝撃は今でも忘れません。
かつて服飾大学に通い、アパレルに勤め、今も服を作ったりする私にとって、ウールは元々好きな素材でした。
それを自分で織れるのか…。
もうその瞬間に、これだと感じました。
それから程なくして盛岡の老舗織物工房『中村工房』さんを訪れ、以来織りを教えて頂き、ますますウールを好きになり、ホームスパンを好きになりました。
高度成長期前の全盛期のころに比べれば、ホームスパンの生産規模はグッと小さくなり、知っている人も少なくなってきています。
それでも盛岡や花巻ではホームスパンの文化が、産業として脈々と、人から人へ、手から手へ、忘れられることなく確実に受け継がれています。
IT、AI、バーチャルの激流の時代に、電気すら使わずに織り上げられるホームスパンは、目に見える物質として、また目に見えない技術として、確かに生き続けています。
この体温の塊は、岩手の、日本の宝です。
私はこのぬくもりを、中村工房の皆さんから分けて頂きました。今も勉強中です。
たくさん勉強しながらですが、このぬくもりを、私なりの形で、世にお伝えしていきたい。
～旅立ち～
好きになってしまった「雫石」と「ホームスパン」を一人でも多くの人に知ってもらうため、決して完成した「旅する羊」ではありませんが、試行錯誤しながら、模索しながら、それでも前進していきたいと思い、歩み始めることにいたしました。
旅とウールを扱うから「旅する羊」と、安易なネーミングですが、「羊」は誰にも置き換えることができます。
旅行で訪れる方、ホームスパン製品、私やあなた…。
これから退ることも、迷うこともあると思います。それでも一歩一歩、足を繰り出して、旅をしようと思っております。
